Join our vibrant team as an Afternoon Childcare Worker, where your passion for nurturing and educating young children will shine! In this agile role, you will provide engaging, safe, and caring support for children during the afternoon hours, fostering their growth and development in a warm and welcoming environment. Qualifications:
- ECEA or ECE Certificate (Pay and position will be dependant on qualifications)
- Willingness to obtain certification in first aid and CPR is expected
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children during afternoon hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction from toddlers-school aged children
- Support children with daily routines such as snack time, educational activities, games and outdoor play
- Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive interactions and developmentally appropriate conduct
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children’s progress and daily experiences
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up activities and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with team members to plan educational programs aligned with childhood development principles
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices and childhood development milestones
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques suitable for young children
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children with complex needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
