Identity Access Analyst (Learning Assignment) Cheif Information Office - IT Security
Status: (1) Contract Full Time – Up to 12 Months
Salary Range: $81,977 - $102,471 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location:10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Reporting to the IT Security Advisor the Identity Access Analyst will be accountable for the production environment against unauthorized access and integrity violations of the production network, business applications and their associated databases; strict compliance with the enterprise and business security policies. In this role the Identity Access Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining the e-mail services and the Active Directory Services, configures, and maintains systems ensuring that performance is optimal.
Responsibilities
- Grants/revokes access privileges to IT resources, messaging, remote access, and enterprise applications and ensures that all authorities are granted based on established security policies, principles, standards and procedures.
- Provides technical problem resolution (workaround, root cause analysis, and permanent resolution) for problems in the technical environment. These problems may include complexity in migration, interoperability (multiple support organizations, manufacturers or software), or have not been encountered before. Maintains the integrity of the boundary between Region of Peel IT environment and the internet, and the Domain Name Services.
- Troubleshoot problems with access privileges, and security related resources. Install, maintains and supports messaging and internet access systems
- Monitors and audits the production environment backup and recovery systems and recommends changes or enhancements where needed
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, including other IT staff and departmental staff, contributing security and privilege requirements and costs to IT project plans, operating plans, implementation plans, and ongoing support of IT services delivery
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and foster partnerships with clients, technical team, and management in an audience-friendly manner
- Works in partnership with project teams to provide advice and guidance on technical and security related matters
- Participates as an effective team member for service delivery and problem resolution
- Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Section and/or the Division
- Maintains and upgrades skills in relation to new technologies
- Performs all duties in accordance with IT standards and procedures
- Performs web domain transfers and renewals
Qualifications:
- University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline with minimum 3 years of experience in administrating enterprise access privileges or in technology infrastructure, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux networking systems DNS, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft O365 and Azure, SSL,SSLVPN and VPNIPSec technologies, Multi-Factor technologies, Windows Terminal Services, Microsoft and Oracle Webservices, Microsoft PKI and VMWare and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VoIP, DSL, TCP/IP and 802.1x.
- Able to travel to various regional locations; and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, On-Call rotation and/or shift work and lifting of equipment routinely required
- Demonstrated attention to detail, practical problem-solving abilities, ability to proactively identify opportunities and quickly implement solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and foster partnerships with clients, technical team, and management in an audience-friendly manner
- Driven to continual improvement of processes and working environment
- Able to handle fluctuating workloads, conflicting priorities and concurrent activities
- Able to work independently and has the desire to learn and share knowledge with team members
- Strong team player with excellent customer service skills along with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence, quality and client communication
- Demonstrated analytical skills along with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to anticipate and prevent major potential security problems/issues
- Aware of best practices in Information Technology service delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT and ITIL
- Exercise sound judgement and make decisions within scope of position
- Working experience of 3 or more years managing Microsoft Azure and O365 environments is preferred
