Role:
As the Analyst, Process & Controls, you will play a key role in supporting the organization’s internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) program by helping ensure controls are appropriately designed, implemented, and maintained. You will adopt a risk-based approach to identify and assess processes for improvement and documentation, while providing guidance on internal control best practices. You will also support the Enterprise Risk Management program and provide cross-functional support as a backup to the Finance Coordinators.

- Assist with the annual planning and review of ICFR control testing and assessments.
- Work with process owners to document ICFR in-scope processes, risks, and controls using Microsoft Visio and Word.
- Collaborate with management to identify and implement process or control improvement initiatives, including assessing control design and effectiveness.
- Help facilitate ICFR audits performed by external consultants; monitor and report on testing and any identified deficiencies to ensure timely remediation, including quarterly Audit Committee updates.
- Liaise with external consultants to ensure alignment, audit readiness, and timely resolution of findings.
- Review and maintain annual control testing work papers in accordance with NI 52-109 guidelines.
- Provide internal control support for new system implementation/upgrade and other corporate-level projects; assess changes to the control environment, identify key risks, and help design appropriate controls as needed.
- Support the development, execution, and sustainment of the Enterprise Risk Management program.
- When needed, provide reasonable assurance or perform supplementary reviews to ensure financial, operational, and system controls, as well as supporting documentation, are in place to mitigate identified risks.
- Act as a backup to Finance Coordinators by performing monthly deposit reconciliations and reviewing monthly audit packages.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, we are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical skilled with strong communication and problem-solving skills who can adapt to changing priorities. If this opportunity sounds engaging to you, you likely have the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 2- 4 years of experience in risk management, audit, or compliance.
- REIT or commercial real estate industry experience is an asset.
- One or more current qualifications preferred – CIA or CPA.
- Strong knowledge of the requirements for National Instrument 52-109 or Sarbanes Oxley Act and COSO/Internal Audit Standards.
- Experience in maintaining ICFR and/or ERM program that addresses combination of financial/operational and technology control objectives.
- Familiarity with Yardi ERP system is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Visio).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across various stakeholders or multiple levels of management including communication with external consultants.
- Must be flexible and is able to handle multiple priorities at the same time.

Compensation:
At Primaris,
we believe in rewarding talent with competitive wages and total compensation package. Your compensation is thoughtfully determined based on factors such as location, job level, relevant education or training, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, while ensuring internal equity and alignment with market data.
Expected Salary Range: CAD $70,000 – $75,000
