Position Overview

The part-time Counsellor, provides professional, client-centered counselling services that integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches with the values of hope and belonging. The therapist supports individual, couples, families experiencing emotional, mental health, relational and life challenges. Services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, ethical guidelines combining Catholic principles.

Expected Compensation

Gross salary will be $36.41 per hour based on 22.5 hours per week. All payments are subject to the required statutory employee deductions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual, couple, family, and group counselling using evidence-based interventions grounded in Catholic values and principles where appropriate.
- Integrate spirituality, and values into counselling based on client needs, preferences, and the therapeutic process.
- Conduct client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans addressing mental health, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship and family concerns, stress, life transitions, and other mental health challenges.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with community partners, clergy, and other professionals to support coordinated and holistic client care.

Qualifications

- Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work, Counselling psychology, or related mental health discipline.




- Current registration in valuable standing with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g. Ontario College of Social Workers).
- Minimum of two years of experience providing clinical counselling services in faith-based settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or other appropriate approaches.
- Knowledge and understanding of Catholic teachings, values and pastoral care principles.
- Proficiency in a second language is an asset.

- A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and relevant insurance.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of appropriate accreditation, professional references and a successful Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records
