Position Summary:
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) has recently modernized its business applications through the deployment of Workday, UKG, and Andgo as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Workforce Management (WFM) software solutions.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications and Integrations, the Applications Analyst performs a variety of duties related to the development, access, and day-to-day support of Workday, UKG, Andgo, and other applications (including mobile applications) across the St. Joseph’s Health System as needed.
The primary focus of the successful applicant will be to support the Workday User Access and Security module, within the role of a Workday Administrator. This role manages user access, role assignments, domain policies, and business process security while ensuring compliance with organizational security standards and audit requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or recognized equivalent required
- 1 to 3 years' experience in healthcare preferred
- Experience with ERP platforms (Workday preferred)
- Experience with security groups, security policies, role-based access control, or user provisioning and lifecycle management preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete and deliver work assignments on time
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of complex technical and operational concepts principles and practices
- Ability to build consensus by listening and understanding different points of view proposing acceptable alternatives
- Capable of finding creative alternatives that satisfy the needs of key stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- User Access Management: provision, modify, and deactivate user accounts, manage role assignments and security group memberships, and process access requests and approvals
- Security Configuration: configure and maintain role- and user-based security groups, domains, and business process security policies, ensuring users have appropriate access aligned with business roles and regulatory requirements based on the principle of least privilege
- Security Auditing and Compliance: perform periodic access reviews and certification activities, assist with internal and external compliance audits when needed
- Testing and Change Management: validate security impacts of new configurations and releases, participate in testing for Workday updates and enhancements, and document security-related changes and promote them through change control processes
- Documenting: creates and maintains documentation related to the Workday User Access and Security module, including changes in system configuration, the creation of functional design documents, and other relevant documents for end users and internal knowledge transfer. Prepares and presents status reports and ad hoc reports, creates test plans, identifies and documents issues for escalation to appropriate teams,
and assists management in the interpretation of available information
- Reporting and Troubleshooting: investigate access issues and security-related incidents, produce security and access reports, work closely with vendors, Human Resource Operations, Payroll Services, Finance, Strategic Sourcing and Logistics; and Digital Solutions, end users, and other user groups to resolve issues and security concerns
- Analysis: provides technical guidance, analyzes and reviews enhancements for compatibility and adherence to operating guidelines, and modifies procedures to solve problems ensuring that applications offer the highest possible reliability and performance
- Communication: This administrator will liaise with other members of the Business Applications and Integrations team supporting the Workday and UKG platforms, while also partnering with operational teams (Cybersecurity. Human Resource Operations, Payroll Services, Finance, Decision Support and Case Costing, and Strategic Sourcing and Logistics among others) to maintain secure and efficient access to the Workday application and data
Hours of work: Monday-Friday, days. May include evenings, weekends, and on call as required. This position is primarily remote with on site requirements as needed.
