Position Summary The County of Wetaskiwin is seeking to fill 2 (two) vacancies for our Seasonal Arena Operator 1 position, reporting to the Supervisor of Parks & Recreation. This is a term position eligible to start September 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027.
The Arena
Operator is responsible for operating the ice resurfacer, performing janitorial duties, minor equipment repairs, ongoing regular maintenance of facility and equipment within the Winfield Arena. The successful candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends.

- Flexible availability to work all required shifts that include days, evenings and weekends;
- Shift schedules will very and be 4-8 hours per shift and up to 40 hours per week.
- Able to diagnose and provide recommendations for building maintenance or light equipment repair.
Experience and Education Requirements The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
Preference will be given to those who also possess the following qualifications:
- Arena Operator Level 1 (Recreation Facility Personnel)
- Arena Maintenance Certificate (Recreation Facility Personnel)
- Recreation Facility Operations and Maintenance Certificate (or equivalent certification)

- The County of Wetaskiwin in accordance with the International Union of Operating Engineers Collective Agreement with the wage schedule Grade 4 $ 25.61 – $ 28.45 per hour based on experience.
