Role Description The Artificial Intelligence Engineer at moss. will design, build, and optimize AI models that power personalized mentoring, project guidance, and career support features on the platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and deploying machine learning models, implementing and refining NLP systems, and experimenting with neural network architectures to improve recommendation quality and user experience. The role involves collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate learning and mentoring needs into scalable AI solutions, as well as monitoring model performance, conducting experiments, and iterating based on data.





This is a full-time hybrid role based in Toronto, ON, where in-person collaboration is combined with flexibility for some work from home.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software development practices.
- Hands-on experience with Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks, including training, evaluation, and optimization of models.
- Practical expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), such as text classification, question answering, and conversational AI.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in AI (e.g., Python), and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Ability to design, test, and deploy machine learning models in production environments, including use of version control and CI/CD tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with recommender systems, education technology, or career development platforms is a plus.
