Montréal searches for a senior VFX artist to create stunning visual effects that will surprise and delight our players. In this role you will work closely with feature teams to design and create visual effects that elevate the gameplay experience to the next level and collaborate with art direction and discipline leadership to ensure creative alignment and consistency across the project.
Responsibilities - Work with art direction and content teams to elevate the gameplay experience by designing and creating real‑time visual effects across the full scope of the game.
- Develop creative direction regarding VFX techniques and style to maintain consistency throughout the user experience.
- Work with multiple feature teams to assess and prioritize their requirements.
- Collaborate with tools and tech team to enhance the VFX pipeline.
Qualifications & Experience - 5+ years of experience in video game development and having worked on a published AAA title.
- Having a portfolio or website demonstrating your artistic skills.
- Understanding of hardware constraints and mastery of techniques to transcend them.
- Mastery of Maya, Photoshop, and knowledge of related software packages such as Houdini and EmberGen is a desired asset.
- Good knowledge of VFX development in game engines; familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 and the Niagara pipeline is highly desirable.
- Active interest in advancement of VFX trends and techniques.
- Working knowledge of shader technology.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Self‑motivated person who thrives in a collaborative setting.
