About WeArt Education
Founded in 2011, WeArt Culture Center is a non-profit organization located in Markham, dedicated to enriching the community through art and culture. Our mission is to connect people across generations and backgrounds by offering diverse programs that foster creativity, inclusion, personal growth, and community vitality. Job Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons on portfolio creation for architecture applications.
- Provide individual feedback and guidance tailored to each student's strengths and goals.
- Assist students in selecting, curating, and organizing work to build cohesive and impactful portfolios.
- Guide students in developing essential technical and artistic skills, including sketching, modeling, Blender, SketchUp, Rhinoceros and 3D visualization techniques.
- Encourage experimentation with various materials, techniques, and styles to diversify their portfolios.
- Design a curriculum aligned with the needs of students applying to architecture schools, art schools, or professional opportunities.
- Keep up-to-date with trends and requirements for competitive applications.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher, preferably in Architecture or Sculpture from an accredited college or university, especially top ones in U.S.A.
- Proficiency in architectural and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Blender or similar).
- Strong portfolio of personal artwork
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and provide constructive feedback to students
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
- Teaching experience will be considered an asset
Location and Time Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship. This role will require in-person presence at WeArt Markham location, 21 Fairburn Drive, Markham, L6G 0A4. As teaching Staff, the applicant should be able to work on site 4PM-8PM on weekday and 10AM-6PM on weekend.
Salary Range
$25-$40/hour depending on the experience
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
