Qualifications & Requirements
- ECE Level 2 or Level 3 certification is required.
- Proven experience working with young children in early childhood education settings, particularly preschool and Pre-K classrooms.
- Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, implementation, and classroom management.
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation for both Preschool and Pre-K programs, with the ability to design engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising, mentoring, and supporting teaching staff and classroom assistants.
- Experience working with children with disabilities, developmental differences, or special educational needs is highly valued.
- Montessori education, training, or classroom experience is an asset.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset and would be an advantage in supporting diverse children and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with children, families, educators, and community partners.
- Knowledge of observation, documentation, assessment, and planning practices appropriate for early learning environments.
- Familiarity with computer operations and software applications used for record keeping, documentation, communication, and program administration.
- Ability to manage time efficiently while maintaining strong organizational standards in a fast-paced early learning environment.
- Current Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional, supportive, and child-centred team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Preschool and Pre-K classrooms, ensuring high-quality programming and consistent implementation of the curriculum.
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate, engaging, and inclusive curriculum that supports children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative development.
- Mentor and provide guidance to educators and classroom assistants to promote consistency and quality in classroom practices.
- Support educators in planning meaningful learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths, developmental needs, and observations.
- Maintain a well-organized, welcoming, and stimulating classroom workplace.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and their families.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, centre policies, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Support inclusion and adapt programming to meet the needs of children requiring additional support.
- Maintain accurate classroom documentation, observations, attendance records, and other required records.
- Promote a play-based, child-centred learning environment, with Montessori practices incorporated where appropriate.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
