We are seeking Assistant Ice Technicians for the Lindsay Curling Club to join our team . The ideal candidates will assist in the daily maintenance of the ice, constantly monitoring ice conditions and perform some simple repair of equipment, ensuring smooth operations within our facility.
Duties
- Assist in preparing the ice surface for play, including scraping the ice, pebbling, nipping and mopping the surface, clearing it of snow and other debris
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks like vacuuming, mopping, removing garbages and cleaning any other surface areas in the ice shed
- Support senior technicians in diagnosing problems
- Perform equipment installations and upgrades
- Document maintenance and repair activities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Experience with curling or making curling ice is a huge benefit, but candidates who are interested in learning current skills and are interested in the sport of curling will be considered
- basic knowledge of the sport of curling is an asset
- any certification through the OCA, Curling Canada or the World Curling Federation is preferred (but not necessary)
