Role Description This is a full-time Assistant Project Manager role based in Vaughan, ON, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home.
The Assistant Project
Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of drainage and related infrastructure projects, working closely with Project Managers, site supervisors, and internal teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include tracking project timelines, assisting with scheduling and expediting materials and services, coordinating logistics with suppliers and subcontractors, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The role involves supporting inspections, monitoring progress against scope, budget, and quality standards, and communicating updates to upper management in a clear and timely manner.

Manager will also help identify risks, propose practical solutions,
and contribute to continuous process improvement while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in project coordination or project management, with the ability to support planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple projects.
- Skills in expediting and expeditor functions, including tracking orders, accelerating deliveries, and resolving delays with vendors and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of logistics management, such as organizing materials, equipment, and site access to keep projects on schedule.
- Experience or familiarity with inspection activities, quality checks, and documenting site conditions and compliance issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Ability to work in a hybrid workplace, managing priorities both on-site in Vaughan, ON and remotely.
- Proficiency with common office and project tools (e.g., MS Office, spreadsheets, project tracking or scheduling software).
- Relevant education in engineering, construction management, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of safety practices and local regulations in construction or infrastructure projects; sewer and watermain experience is an asset.
