Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager / Service Coordinator to join our retail team.

Fernie Hearth and Home is a local Fireplace and Appliance retail store located in the beautiful Fernie, B.C.

In this vital role, you will lead daily store operations, coordinate customer service efforts, and support sales initiatives to ensure an exceptional shopping experience. You will manage the fireplace sales program, scheduling site measurements, sales and installs with our subcontractor network.

Your leadership will drive team performance, optimize merchandising strategies, and oversee administrative functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills while actively contributing to store success and customer satisfaction.

Duties

- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring store cleanliness and organization
- Lead our fireplace program. Take sales, book installation appointments with our subcontractor network.
- Oversee customer service interactions, ensuring prompt,



courteous assistance and resolving issues efficiently
- Coordinate merchandising activities, including pricing, product placement, inventory purchasing, and stock replenishment to maximize sales potential
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and exchanges while maintaining accurate cash registers and financial records
- Conduct recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in onboarding processes to build a strong team
- Implement marketing strategies within the store to attract customers and promote special offers or seasonal campaigns
