- Effectively supervise and support larger groups of preschool-aged children while maintaining active supervision.
- Encourage children's creativity, communication, problem-solving, independence, and self-expression.
- Implement positive behaviour guidance strategies that support emotional regulation and social development.
- Support classroom routines, transitions, meals, outdoor play, and other daily activities.
- Observe children's development and contribute to classroom planning and documentation.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom setting.
- Ensure children's health, safety, and well-being are maintained throughout the day.
Qualifications & Experiences:
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 certification is required.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably ages 4–6.
- Experience supporting neurodivergent children and/or children with diverse learning needs.
- Experience working effectively with larger classroom or group sizes.
- Strong understanding of child development and positive behaviour guidance.
- Experience or interest in creative, sensory, expressive, or child-led learning approaches.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt effectively within a busy and dynamic classroom environment.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to provide required background and vulnerable sector checks.
