A growing company is looking to bring on a detail-oriented Accountant (Thornhill) to support its finance operations.

This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day accounting processes. The successful candidate will manage core accounting functions including payables, receivables, payroll coordination, and reconciliations, while maintaining organized and reliable financial records.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including transaction recording, account classification, and documentation
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies when needed
- Maintain and update the general ledger, including preparation of trial balances
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare financial summaries and reports to support internal decision-making
- Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations and internal controls
- Handle documentation and record-keeping to maintain audit-ready files
- Assist with invoicing,



payment collection, and financial tracking processes
- Support payroll-related activities and basic HR administrative functions
- Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and provide support

What We're Looking For:

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- Familiarity with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks , or similar systems is an asset
- Robust proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office tools
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound financial judgments

Education & Credentials

- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation (or in progress) is considered an asset, but not required
