Description

Sun West School Division is seeking reliable, safety-oriented applicants for a School Bus Driverposition for Rosetown Route 11 (Northwest of Rosetown to Rosetown Schools).

This is a temporary position, starting September 2, 2026 and continuing until December 18, 2026.

The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedules
- Pick up and drop off students at assigned stops
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulations
- Maintain order and discipline on the bus
- Assist students with boarding and exiting when required
- Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly
- Keep accurate records of routes, incidents, and inspections
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid driver's license with "S" endorsement
- Acceptable 10 year driving abstract




- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous driving or school transportation experience is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations
- Basic computer and technology skills, including the ability to use email, mobile apps, and electronic reporting or scheduling systems

Working Conditions

- Split shifts (morning and afternoon routes)
- Driving in various weather conditions
- Interaction with children of diverse ages and needs

Compensation & Advantages

Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the collective agreement of CUPE Local 4802.

- Base Rate: $61.71
