We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Lawyer to join our Solicitor Department in Kingston, Ontario. This opportunity is ideally suited for a new call or lawyer with up to 2 years of experience who is looking to develop a rewarding solicitor practice.
Working closely with experienced lawyers, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, assume increasing responsibility, and build strong client relationships in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth.
About the Role
This position offers exposure to a broad range of solicitor matters, including:
Real Estate Law
- Residential real estate transactions
- Commercial real estate transactions
- Refinancing and mortgage matters
- Title reviews and due diligence
- Real estate development matters
Corporate / Commercial Law
- Incorporations and corporate organizations
- Business purchase and sale transactions
- Share and asset transactions
- Corporate reorganizations
- Corporate governance and maintenance matters
Wills & Estates
- Drafting wills and powers of attorney
- Estate planning matters
- Estate administration and probate applications
- Trust-related matters
- Succession planning

The successful candidate will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced solicitors with opportunities to gain hands-on experience and progressively assume greater responsibility as their practice develops. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will possess:
- Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- A new call to the Ontario Bar or up to 2 years of legal practice experience, preferably with exposure to real estate, corporate/commercial, or wills and estates law
- Possess a positive attitude and growth mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn, adapt, embrace feedback, and approach challenges constructively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear, practical legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and other professionals
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and maintain strong client relationships
- Sound judgment, professionalism, and a client-focused approach to legal service
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and meet competing deadlines
- Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with lawyers, clerks, and support staff
- A demonstrated interest in developing a solicitor practice and providing practical, client-focused legal solutions
- A willingness to assume increasing responsibility for files as experience develops
- A friendly, entrepreneurial personality and solid interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with legal technology, document management systems, and standard office software
- An excellent command of the English language, including spelling and grammar

Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
