Wage and Benefits
- 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave
- • 5.6% of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- • 6% of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
- Shift premium pay:
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the ski patrol team, overseeing all facets of guest service, guest safety, mountain safety, medical care, on‑hill maintenance, and chair lift guest evacuation.
- Ensure adequate and appropriate daily scheduling of staff and communicate assignments and expectations.
- Track training performance and certifications, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct documented mid‑ and end‑of‑season reviews.
- Demonstrate effective supervisory skills in motivation, training, and performance reviews.
- Facilitate and coordinate with other departments on daily opening and operations of the resort, addressing weather‑related impacts on ski school, food service, lifts, etc.
- Assume a leadership role in major incidents such as accidents, lift issues, special events, guest confrontations, or missing skier searches.
- Oversee ski hill maintenance issues, including closures, slope and trail conditions, protective padding, and general appearance of the ski area.
- Work outdoors in variable winter weather conditions and cold temperatures,
requiring strong physical stamina and the ability to lift at least 25 kg.

Qualifications
- Required
- High School diploma plus at least one year of related experience, including supervisory and skiing related experience.
- Advanced First Aid and Advanced CPR certification (maintained throughout employment).
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License (or equivalent) with Driver’s Abstract, less than 6 demerits.
- Additional Assets
- Canadian Ski Patrol certification.
- Demonstrated advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
- Ability to remain composed during high‑stress emergency incidents.
- Physical fitness; able to lift 25 kg.
- Knowledge of ski hill operations and facility management.
- Experience operating a snowmobile.
- Knowledge of Hidden Valley Ski Resort and its facilities/services.
- Proficiency with computer applications and administrative duties.
- Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
Terms of Employment
- 36.25‑hour weekly shifts.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Shifts may start in November 2026 and continue until April 2027, pending operational needs.
