This is nursing as it should be.As a Orthopaedic and spinal clinical lead at our Manor Hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and experience.Clinical Leadership & Practice StandardsProvide expert qualified and clinical leadership to Orthopaedic theatre teamsAct as the specialist lead for orthopaedic surgical procedures and theatre workflowsSet, monitor, and maintain high standards of perioperative care in line with national guidance, Trust policies, and SOPsDemonstrate visible leadership, promoting professionalism, accountability, and a culture of safetyLead clinical governance within orthopaedic theatresEnsure compliance with WHO surgical safety standards, infection prevention, implant traceability, and documentationLead investigations into incidents, complications, and near misses,
ensuring timely reporting and learningEmbed learning from audits, incidents, and GIRFT recommendations into clinical practiceEnsure NGR compliance and submissionsService Delivery & Operational OversightWork collaboratively with theatre management to optimise list utilisation, improve patient flow, and reduce cancellationsContribute to capacity planning, service resilience, and business continuitySupport delivery of elective and trauma activity in line with performance targetsLine Management & Workforce LeadershipAct as line manager for designated Orthopaedic theatre staffLead appraisals, performance management, and professional development planningManage sickness absence and promote staff wellbeing, engagement, and retentionSupport workforce planning, safe staffing levels, and appropriate skill mixEducation, Training & Competency ManagementEnsure all staff are appropriately trained, competent, and compliant within orthopaedic practiceOversee induction, competency assessment, and ongoing professional developmentHelping you feel good.
