Be a part of the dynamic team at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Toronto as a Counsel. This role focuses on delivering high-quality legal support in municipal and housing law on a temporary contract basis.The Ministry is looking for two experienced Counsel to address various legal matters affecting municipal projects. Successful candidates will possess knowledge in advisory contexts, legislative drafting, and public law. You will be involved in advising on procurement and representing interests before the Ontario Land Tribunal.Key Responsibilities:Draft regulations, opinions, and ministerial ordersProvide legal advice to support operational decisionsManage legal proceedings and applications for judicial reviewCollaborate with senior ministry staff on legal implicationsRepresent the Crown in legal hearings and negotiationsRequirements:Lawyer membership in valuable standing with the Law Society of OntarioExperience with the Planning Act and housing lawHigh-volume legal drafting capabilityExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to assess and resolve complex legal issuesBring your legal acumen to a role that supports meaningful government initiatives.#J-18808-Ljbffr
