Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional service to our customers while working with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, electrical testing, and diagnostic tools to identify necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements on various vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components on automotive systems, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and power tools.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance tasks.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic instruments to complete repairs accurately.
- Read and interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies while maintaining high-quality workmanship.




- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently and provide excellent customer service by explaining work performed clearly.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or in heavy equipment maintenance; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, industrial equipment, farm machinery, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with schematics, electrical diagnostics, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures for various machinery including Caterpillar equipment or similar brands.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail when diagnosing issues using technical manuals or schematics.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments; comfort with manual labor is essential.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
