Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Shop Supervisor / Manager to join our team in West Vancouver. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising automotive technicians and shop staff, coordinating daily operations, and supporting efficient and high-quality automotive service.

Responsibilities

- Supervise, coordinate, and support automotive technicians, tire technicians, and helpers.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to technicians and shop staff.
- Establish and maintain effective work procedures and workflow.
- Assist technicians with difficult diagnostic and repair problems.
- Coordinate daily shop activities and resolve work-related problems.
- Identify required parts, equipment, and materials and arrange their purchase.
- Communicate with parts suppliers regarding availability, pricing, specifications, and technical issues.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of shop equipment and tools.
- Perform automotive diagnostics and repairs when required.
- Work on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Be able to work both indoors and outdoors as required.

Requirements

- Proven experience supervising or leading automotive technicians or mechanical trades workers.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assign, coordinate, supervise, and review the work of technicians and shop staff.




- Ability to train and mentor employees.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical and operational decisions.
- Strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification or equivalent.
- Valid CVSE inspection certification.
- Valid HRAI ODP/ODS certification for refrigerant handling and purchasing.
- Complete professional automotive toolbox and personal set of automotive tools.
- Experience with gasoline, diesel, hybrid, PHEV, and EV vehicles.
- Experience with luxury, high-performance, and super-sport vehicles.
- Experience with automotive HVAC/A/C systems.
- Proficiency with professional diagnostic scan tools and multiple diagnostic platforms.
- Experience with Mitchell 1 ProDemand for repair information, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with TPMS programming, relearning, and diagnosis.
- Experience operating Hunter Hawkeye alignment equipment.
- Manufacturer or specialized automotive training.
- Previous experience as a shop foreman, lead technician, automotive supervisor, or service manager.

We are looking for a highly skilled automotive qualified who can combine strong supervisory and leadership abilities with advanced technical knowledge and hands-on automotive experience. Pay: From $60.50 per hour
