Join our automotive team as a Shop Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help keep our service centre running smoothly! In this vital role, you will support daily shop operations by maintaining a clean and organized environment, assisting technicians, and providing excellent customer service. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to delivering top-quality automotive care and ensuring a positive experience for every customer.

Responsibilities

- Assist technicians with basic tasks such as organizing tools, parts, and equipment to streamline workflow.

- Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, including sweeping, trash removal, and sanitizing work areas ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

- Support inventory management by stocking supplies and ensuring parts are properly stored and labeled.

- Assist with organizing onsite tire storage including pulling and putting away of tires for scheduled appointments and maintaining an accurate record of stored tires/rims.

- Assist with the repair, replacement and installation of tires, ensuring proper mounting and balancing procedures are completed to industry standards.

- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.

- Perform general cleaning duties around the shop to promote a tidy and skilled workspace.

- Assist other technicians and staff as required.

Qualifications





- Strong commitment to cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.

- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools including lifts, tire machines, wheel balancers, and other shop equipment and follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

- Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, standing and performing repetitive tasks continuously for an 8 hour work day.

- Knowledge of general health and safety practices in an automotive garage environment.

- Prior experience in an automotive setting is a plus but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

- Strong attention to detail and able to record accurate service record details.

- Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the automotive service industry.

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record would be an asset but not a requirement.

Working Conditions

- Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

- Fast-paced automotive service environment.

- Standing, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles for extended periods.

- Involves exposure to oil, grease, dirt, noise, and varying temperatures.

- Must follow proper personal protective equipment and workplace safety requirements.

Benefits

- $18.00 - $21.00 / hour depending on skill level.
