Role: AWS Developer - Kafka,Lambda,S3,Glue,Python,SQL

Toronto

Hybrid - 3 days

1 yr contract ( Extended)

We are looking for a highly skilled AWS Developer with 10–12+ years of software development experience and strong hands-on expertise in designing, developing, deploying, and supporting scalable applications and cloud solutions on AWS.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in AWS application development, serverless technologies, APIs, Python/Java, event-driven architectures, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and production-grade cloud applications .

Required Skills

- 10–12+ years of experience in Software/Application Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon API Gateway
- Amazon S3
- Amazon DynamoDB
- Amazon SQS / SNS
- Amazon Kinesis and/or Apache Kafka
- AWS Step Functions
- Amazon EventBridge
- AWS Glue – familiarity with data integration is an asset
- CloudWatch
- IAM
- Strong programming experience with Python and/or Java .
- Robust experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices .
- Experience building serverless and event-driven applications on AWS.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms .
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code , preferably AWS CDK or Terraform .
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices .
- Experience with Git-based source control and automated build/deployment processes.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases .
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, networking, and AWS best practices .
- Experience designing, developing, troubleshooting,



and supporting production-grade AWS applications .
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain.
- Experience developing real-time and event-driven applications .
- Experience with microservices architecture .
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/EKS .
- Familiarity with AWS ECS/EKS .
- Experience with AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, and Event-driven architectures .
- Experience implementing observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and related AWS services.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and AWS Well-Architected principles.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies .
- AWS Certifications are an asset.

- Strong hands-on AWS Developer with proven technical expertise in developing scalable cloud-native applications.
- Individual contributor capable of designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade AWS solutions .
- Strong experience with Python/Java, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, SQS/SNS, Kinesis/Kafka,



and serverless architectures .
- Experience delivering highly available, scalable, secure, and production-ready AWS applications .
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical solutions.
- Able to collaborate effectively with Data Engineers, Architects, DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, and other cross-functional teams .
- Strong focus on code quality, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability .

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native applications and services using AWS .
- Develop and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda and API Gateway .
- Build REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications .
- Develop integrations using SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis/Kafka, and other AWS services .
- Design and implement data persistence solutions using DynamoDB, RDS, and other databases .
- Develop reusable and maintainable Python/Java applications and services .
- Implement infrastructure using AWS CDK or Terraform .
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
- Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, alerting, and application observability .
- Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, performance, and production issues.
- Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, scalability, and performance requirements .
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise cloud solutions.
- Provide production support and continuously improve existing AWS applications and services.
