About Us

Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an on-site IFS Assyst / ITSM Technical Specialist for a contract opportunity. This role will provide technical expertise in the development, maintenance, support, enhancement, and evolution of an enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) environment. This is an on-site role in Ottawa, ON.

Position Summary The successful candidate will provide technical expertise supporting an IFS Assyst V11.3 ITSM solution and CMDB operating across designated and classified (SECRET) environments. The role will support system integration, application maintenance, enhancements, business systems analysis, infrastructure management, database performance, documentation, testing, releases, and technical support.

The resource will work closely with application lifecycle management and ITSM teams to implement approved changes and enhancements while maintaining system availability and alignment with ITSM and ITIL best practices.

The role will also contribute to the planning and implementation of a future ITSM toolset, including the migration of relevant and accurate data from IFS Assyst.

Key Responsibilities

- Integrate IFS Assyst with various enterprise systems and ensure technology compatibility and interoperability
- Plan, configure, build, test, document, and release IFS Assyst changes and enhancements across designated and SECRET environments
- Support the Liferay and BIRT infrastructure, including configuration, testing, documentation, releases, and enhancements
- Develop and maintain technical and ITSM documentation, including interface requirements, system designs, build documents, processes, scripts, configurations, and data dictionaries
- Perform data migration from other sources into the enterprise CMDB and support migration of relevant IFS Assyst data to a future ITSM toolset




- Conduct business analysis of requirements, including analysis of information, procedures, decision flows, service desk processes, and methods
- Develop action plans to implement improvements to ITSM and service desk procedures and methods
- Define and document interfaces between manual and automated operations, application subsystems, and external and existing systems
- Perform impact analysis of technology changes and identify key performance indicators for implemented changes
- Provide technical and application support to support teams and assist with the proper application of existing infrastructure
- Review application, program, and technical infrastructure designs to ensure compliance with standards and identify performance improvements
- Monitor and optimize database performance through query, indexing, and database structure optimization
- Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, failures, and data integrity problems
- Monitor and optimize server performance and address potential resource bottlenecks
- Provide knowledge transfer, briefings, presentations, and on-the-job training to technical and support teams
- Participate in ITSM service improvement initiatives and the planning and implementation of a recent ITSM toolset
- Ensure implemented solutions align with ITSM and ITIL best practices and evolving technology standards

Required Qualifications

- Active Government of Canada Secret Clearance
- Hands-on experience with IFS Assyst, preferably IFS Assyst V11.x
- Strong experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL practices
- Experience supporting and maintaining Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs)
- Experience with system integration, application maintenance, configuration, testing, and technical support
- Experience developing and maintaining technical and system documentation




- Experience performing business systems analysis and translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience with database administration, performance monitoring, query optimization, indexing, and data integrity
- Experience with data migration and data quality/validation activities
- Experience supporting applications and infrastructure in controlled or classified environments
- Experience with release, change, and configuration management processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Liferay
- Experience with BIRT reporting infrastructure
- Experience with Java, Java portlets, XML, and PDF-based forms
- Experience with Kerberos-based authentication/authorization
- Experience supporting ITSM implementations within government or other complex enterprise environments
- Experience with ITSM tool migration or modernization initiatives
- Experience with enterprise service desk process improvement
- Experience providing technical knowledge transfer and training to first-, second-, and third-line support teams
- IFS Assyst or other relevant ITSM/ITIL certifications

Compensation

Salary Range: $80.00 - $95.00 / hour
