or stat holiday payKey Duties / ResponsibilitiesDevelop commissioning plans and strategies for projectsCoordinate and oversee the commissioning processCollaborate with project teams and stakeholdersEnsure compliance with regulations and standardsConduct inspections and tests to verify system performanceIdentify and resolve deficiencies or issuesDocument and report commissioning activitiesManage commissioning schedules and resourcesReview and approve commissioning documentationConduct training and handover activitiesCollaborate with contractors and vendorsMonitor progress and address project risksManage relationships with clients and stakeholdersConduct post-commissioning evaluations and follow-upsEnsure project completion within specified quality standardsKey SkillsCommissioning planning & execution: Ability to develop, manage, and execute commissioning plans across all project phasesProject Coordination: Skilled in aligning schedules, disciplines, and contractors toward common milestonesSite Support: Overseeing mechanical, piping and E&I construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnover to operationsTechnical Skills: Candidates with prior experience in Aconex and Hexagon updates are strongly preferredTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of systems integration, instrumentation, controls, and power systemsLeadership: Proven capability to lead teams,
delegate responsibilities, and manage performance in high-pressure environmentsProblem-solving: Able to quickly identify, assess, and resolve issues impacting safety, quality, or scheduleCommunication: Clear and effective communicator across all levels—field crews, vendors, engineering teams, and client stakeholdersDocumentation & reporting: Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills for system completions, punch lists, test results, and turnover packagesSafety focus: Commitment to protected work practices and fostering a zero-incident cultureAdaptability: Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced site conditions with shifting prioritiesEducation/Work Experience/QualificationsMinimum 5–10 years of experience in commissioning roles within the oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial sectorsEngineering or Technical diploma/degree in a relevant discipline5+ years of experience in commissioning in industrial environmentsStrong understanding of multi-disciplinary construction and commissioning processesProven leadership, communication, and coordination skillsFamiliarity with oil sands safety, regulatory, and operational standards is a strong assetValid safety certifications (e.G., First Aid, OSSA, CSTS, WHMIS, H2S Alive)Ability to work in a remote camp-based environment and adapt to changing site conditionsExcellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teamsMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol testMust be able to pass a criminal background checkOCL Group Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
