About the Role

As a Barista and Counter Service team member, you’ll be responsible for preparing drinks, serving food, maintaining a clean workspace, and delivering warm, skilled hospitality. - Keep counters, self-serve areas, and seating zones clean and welcoming.

Barista & Beverage Duties

- Assist with food and pastry handling, heating, and presentation.
- Operate the POS system for sales, returns, and daily cash handling.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Help with opening and closing tasks, including cleaning, stocking, and waste management.

Qualifications

- Prior experience in customer service, food service, or barista work is an asset—but not required.
- Outgoing and friendly with strong communication skills.
- Able to multitask and stay composed under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs safely.

Asset Qualifications (Nice to Have)

- FOODSAFE Level 1 and/or Serving It Right certification.
- Familiarity with espresso machines or point-of-sale systems.
- First Aid (OFA Level 1).
- Fluency in a second language.

Work Conditions

- Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and morning/afternoon shifts.
- Indoor café environment with occasional outdoor crossover (e.g., events, lineups).
- High guest volume during peak hours; must be comfortable moving quickly.
