TalentWorld is looking for an experienced Batch Maker Operator for one of their manufacturing clients in Richmond BC.
Batch Maker Operator Responsibilities
- Read production formulas and accurately weigh, measure, and prepare ingredients and work-in-progress materials for production.
- Feed specified quantities of ingredients and materials into hoppers, mixers, and processing equipment according to production and quality standards.
- Operate automatic and manual food processing and refining equipment, including completing equipment set-up, start-up, changeovers, and shutdowns.
- Monitor and adjust processing parameters, including temperature, moisture, equipment settings, flow rates, and roller clearances to ensure product specifications are achieved.
- Perform product quality checks by examining consistency, texture, colour, and other quality factors, and collect samples for quality analysis.
- Operate PLC-controlled equipment to transfer finished or work-in-progress products to storage tanks and designated production areas.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, making adjustments where appropriate and escalating concerns to supervisors as required.
- Accurately complete production documentation, labels, quality records, and other required reporting.
- Follow GMP, food safety, quality, health and safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
- Move ingredients, barrels, containers, and skids throughout the production area using appropriate material-handling equipment
Batch Maker Operator Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Batch Maker, Process Operator,
Mixing Operator or similar role within food manufacturing.
- Experience weighing and measuring ingredients and following production formulas, recipes, batch sheets, or work instructions.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, quality, and health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating and adjusting automated and/or manual processing equipment; PLC experience is considered an asset.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to monitor equipment, troubleshoot basic issues, and complete production changeovers.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Comfortable working in varying production conditions, including hot, cold, humid, wet, and dusty environments.
- Able to regularly lift and move up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Flexibility to work rotating day, afternoon, and night shifts.
Employment Details
- Location: Richmond British Columbia.
- Shift - monthly rotation Days 6:30am - 3pm Afternoons 2:30pm - 11pm Nights 10:30pm - 7am
- Employment Type: Temporary role until the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension.
