Northern Star is looking to hire a dedicated and energetic skilled individual to fill a contract-based Behaviour (ABA) Interventionist position in Edmonton and surrounding area.
The position involves working with children diagnosed with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities. Candidates must be willing to be supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and supervised fieldwork experience can be provided for the right candidate as they grow their role. The successful candidate will be providing therapy in homes of the clients so the candidate must have their own transportation to client homes within Edmonton and surrounding area (Leduc, Beaumont, Sherwood Park etc.).

Northern Star Behaviour Services offers:
· Flexibility in your schedule
· Comprehensive training (Secure Management Training with emphasis on non-violence intervention techniques and de-escalation technique)
· A supportive team of multidisciplinary backgrounds (BCBA, SLP, OT, many students who are working towards their BCBA certification etc.)
Role and Responsibilities
· Implement ABA therapy in 1:1 setting including DTT and NET in the homes of the clients.
· Monitor child’s progress through data collection and graphing.
· Provide parent training, education, and support services.
· Administer Functional Assessments with supervision of BCBA
· Collaborate to develop individual and/or group goals and strategies.
· Identify additional service needs as appropriate and assist family in accessing services.
· Provide modeling techniques and strategies for parents
· Communicate with Behaviour Consultant and BCBA as well as parents on an on-going basis
· Adhere to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
· 1 year of experience of working and teaching children with special needs (Autism included). Less experience may be considered with technical training as a substitute (e.g., currently enrolled in MacEwan's BICA program).
· A valid driver’s license and designated vehicle
· Flexibility to work 3-4 evenings (until 7PM)
· ABA/Autism-related Diploma/Certificate is an asset. (RBT, BCaBA, pursuing BCBA designation)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Eager to learn
· Updated vulnerable sector check and child life check
· First aid and CPR trained

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
