Main Tasks and Key Responsibilities
Perform in-process inspections and start-up checks for the encapsulation, bottling, powders, liquids, and blending departments.
Perform in-process inspections and start-up checks for bulk product inspection, coating operations, and packaged finished products (FP).
Review batch records following encapsulation and release bulk products.
Release or quarantine bulk products, raw materials (RM), and packaging components, both physically and within the system.
Review bottling batch records (FME) as required.
Perform cleaning validations in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
Clean and calibrate scales using weights of up to 40 kg.
Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections as assigned.
Investigate unexpected issues and recommend solutions to resolve them (CAPA: Corrective and Preventive Actions).
Report any unusual or non-compliant events observed during daily operations.
Enter data, complete forms and logbooks, and maintain accurate and complete records.
Apply GMP/GDP knowledge and promote awareness of GMP/GDP deviations and violations among employees.
Collect and manage finished product retention samples, as well as samples for microbiological, gluten, stability, and other testing for in-process and finished products.
Inspect workstations following maintenance repairs and assess product and personnel safety.
Maintain professional relationships and provide support to internal and external departments.
Participate in the organization and maintenance of departmental activities and perform any other related duties as assigned.
Required Competences and Skills
Demonstrate a high degree of autonomy, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a demanding environment.
Positive understanding of current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements; knowledge of Natural Health Products (NHPs) and pharmaceuticals is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to develop and maintain an efficient work environment.
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to listen and provide effective support to colleagues and operators in demanding situations.
Detail-oriented, accurate, and highly observant.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle and lift loads of up to 40 kg during scale verification activities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or a DEC/Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or another relevant scientific discipline. One to two years of experience in a similar role. AEC in Quality Assurance (Asset). QA/QC experience in the pharmaceutical or natural health products industry.
