Job Summary

KMSC Law LLP in Grande Prairie is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our Finance team. This is a full-time, in-office position located in Grande Prairie and is not a remote role.

This position will be primarily responsible for supporting the billing cycle, maintaining accurate client and financial records, and ensuring invoices are prepared and processed accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of billing, accounting, or related finance experience, robust attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of work while meeting deadlines. Experience working in a professional services or legal environment would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and process client invoices accurately and within established billing timelines
- Review billing information for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before invoices are finalized
- Work with internal team members to resolve billing discrepancies, corrections, and outstanding information
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end billing processes and reporting
- Monitor billing matters and follow up on outstanding or incomplete items
- Support accounts receivable processes, including account reviews and payment inquiries
- Assist with reconciliations and other finance-related reporting as required
- Maintain accurate client and financial information within accounting and billing systems
- Collaborate closely with the Finance team and other departments to ensure established billing procedures are followed
- Identify recurring billing issues and assist with improving processes and efficiencies
- Provide additional accounting and Finance team support as required





Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or a related finance role
- Previous experience managing a high volume of billing or financial transactions is preferred
- Accounting diploma, post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an asset
- Experience with accounting or billing software
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Comfortable reviewing detailed financial information and identifying discrepancies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable handling confidential financial information
- Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is considered an asset
