About the Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly scaling SaaS organization. This contract Billing Specialist role reports into the Controller and is central to ensuring billing and revenue workflows run smoothly—from maintaining high-quality customer master data in NetSuite to operationalizing contract terms through sales orders, billing schedules, and revenue configurations .

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to keep renewals and pricing updates on track, while supporting revenue processes consistent with ASC 606 . The workplace is lean, improvement-focused, and investing in automation and practical AI usage. You’ll be expected to incorporate AI tools into everyday work to improve speed, accuracy, and insight—while applying sound judgment and validating outputs before taking action.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the day-to-day owner of billing in NetSuite , maintaining accurate customer setup details (billing contacts, payment terms, currencies, subsidiaries, and related master data)
- Monitor and maintain consistency of customer information between NetSuite and HubSpot , investigating variances and correcting issues before they impact invoicing or reporting
- Produce accurate, on-time invoices across a multi-subsidiary (OneWorld) environment, ensuring alignment to contractual terms and internal standards
- Convert customer contract language into operational billing configurations, including sales orders, billing schedules, and revenue-related setups within NetSuite
- Support the renewal cycle and annual pricing updates by confirming billing terms and schedules are correctly reflected and resolving concerns prior to billing runs
- Process contract changes and billing adjustments,



ensuring downstream impacts to revenue recognition are captured appropriately
- Apply ASC 606 principles and support revenue recognition execution through NetSuite ARM
- Build and reconcile recurring schedules for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related balance sheet accounts , supporting month-end and year-end requirements
- Prepare monthly revenue reporting and narrative insights, including billings activity , ARR/MRR movement analysis , and trend observations for Finance leadership
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for billing, contract, and revenue analytics, providing clear and actionable outputs
- Use AI tools in practical, daily workflows (contract review support, reconciliation review, variance write-ups, documentation drafts, and data analysis) while validating accuracy before execution
- Act as a cross-functional billing and revenue resource to Sales, Customer Success, and Operations , translating accounting requirements into workable guidance

What You Bring

- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance with significant exposure to billing operations and revenue recognition (SaaS/subscription experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of subscription business reporting and performance measures (including ARR, MRR, NRR, churn ) and the ability to communicate what’s driving changes
- Strong hands-on expertise with NetSuite , including Sales Orders, Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), saved searches , and OneWorld/multi-entity billing
- Solid accounting fundamentals,



including comfort with journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet schedule support
- Practical understanding of ASC 606 , including how renewals, amendments, and multi-element arrangements affect billing and revenue
- Proven track record using AI tools in a finance/accounting workflow, with real examples you can discuss (and a validation-first mindset)
- Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and building reconciliation models)
- Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and handle sensitive issues appropriately
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related ; CPA (or actively pursuing) preferred
- Must have: Experience with HubSpot in an environment integrated to NetSuite
