Position Description

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual for our Branch Manager role based in our Timmins location.

The Branch

Manager oversees the business of the region as a whole. This includes, but is not limited to, the customer service, safety, operational efficiencies, and overall personnel management within the branch.

The Branch

Manager is relied upon for the effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing and decision making to attain profitable results for the entire branch.

Position Responsibilities

- Overall business accountability for performance, safety and profitability.
- Liaise with VP of Operations to make decisions for business improvement and set strategic goals.
- Monitors budget and operating metrics while diagnosing and improving processes, procedures, and performance.
- Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with company standards and other standards and regulations.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety team to ensure thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, following-up with consistent discipline and retraining.
- Work closely with the HR team to oversee personnel needs of the division including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.




- Participates in regular P&L; reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs for optimal equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and labor and material costs.
- Regularly evaluate the efficiency and profitability of business processes and procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
- Manage and provide leadership for managers within the branch.
- Assist in forming business plans for tenders and other new business ventures.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.
- Ensure compliance with external processes/practices, i.e. MOL, MOE.
- Manage relationships/agreements with contracts to ensure compliance.
- Logistical decisions, determine location of loads.
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Code of Conduct – Promote Accountability, Integrity and Diligence through demonstrated behaviours and open communication at all levels.
- Other duties as directed or required.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

- 3+ years experience in a liquid or solid waste management role.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and inspire.
- Strong knowledge and experience of various trucks and equipment.
- Post-secondary education in business management is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and execute.
- Experience in finance, budgeting, and fiscal planning.
- Data analytics.
- Ability to manage several teams directly and indirectly.
- Computer competencies – outlook/excel.




- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Active participation in the site operations, including physically touring the facilities in the region.
- A valid G driver’s license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to various locations in the region.
- Strong market knowledge and key awareness of the changes occurring in the liquid waste management industries, as well as best practices.
- Ability to communicate information and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
- Keen attention to detail.
