Become the Recreation Operations Leader in the City of Vernon, ensuring recreation facilities operate safely and efficiently. Oversee maintenance, ice operations, and pool chemistry for community health.
Reporting directly to the Manager of Business Services, this role involves significant regulatory responsibilities as the Chief Engineer for ammonia refrigeration plants. You will lead a team of Facility Operators and Custodians while ensuring all aspects of recreation facilities are mechanically reliable and well-maintained. Your hands-on approach is essential for the effective service of the Active Living Centre, arenas, and pools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and maintain safety standards in facilities • Supervise preventative maintenance and operations • Implement modern pool chemistry practices • Liaise with specialized contracted trades • Mentor and lead Facility Operators and Custodians
Requirements: • Previous recreation or facilities management experience • Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration regulations • Robust team leadership capabilities • Ability to manage and oversee multiple environments • Focus on safety and compliance standards
