Job Responsibilities

- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and general maintenance required to ensure the proper operation and upkeep of building equipment and systems.

- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for tenants, customers, and visitors by following all health, safety, and security procedures.

- Identify and report areas of concern, safety hazards, and maintenance issues to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.

- Monitor central plant equipment and related building systems to ensure a comfortable environment for tenants and patrons.

- Test fire safety equipment on a monthly basis, including checking valves, bells, and related components to ensure proper operation and tenant and customer safety.

- Perform daily inspections of common areas, mechanical rooms, and maintenance areas.

- Complete relamping and basic electrical maintenance throughout the property to ensure proper lighting levels.

- Respond to tenant concerns regarding HVAC issues by troubleshooting problems, completing repairs where appropriate, or making recommendations to reduce repair costs and maintain a high level of customer service.

- Assist with general building maintenance, including plumbing, tiling, drywall repairs, painting, and other maintenance tasks as required.

- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

- Respond to maintenance emergencies and participate in after-hours or on-call duties as required.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

- High school diploma required.

- Enrolled in or working toward SMA or SMT (BOMA) certification considered an asset.

- Minimum two (2) years of experience in building operations, physical plant operations, HVAC, or related equipment.

Experience in a commercial high-rise, retail, or mixed-use environment is considered an asset.

- Thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures, including plumbing, tiling, drywall, painting, and related building maintenance.

- General knowledge of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems.

- Familiarity with building management and energy management systems is an asset.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Gmail, and other computer-based maintenance or building management systems.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Valid driver's licence is an asset.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
