Aqua-Coast Engineering is looking for a Airtightness Testing Technician to join our growing team.

Aqua-Coast is a locally owned professional engineering firm with offices in Richmond and Kelowna, BC. We specialize in building enclosure engineering, energy modeling, airtightness testing, and re-roofing/restoration services for the residential and commercial construction industry throughout British Columbia. Aqua-Coast is a successful and growing company providing practical solutions for our ongoing clients.

Responsibilities for this position include:

· Primary role: Assisting senior team members in performing building airtightness testing and EnerGuide evaluations of townhouses, condominiums, high-rise, and commercial buildings

· Attend on-site preparation meetings with senior team members

· Assist in providing pre-test and post-test reporting

· Comply with specific safety requirements as identified/required for each site

· Perform other related duties as required

Requirements include:

- Familiarity with the Construction Industry or related Testing Field
- Post secondary courses in Building Sciences and/or the Construction Field is preferred (not mandatory)
- Good work ethic with ability to work efficiently, professionally, independently and as a team member
- Experience in the Building Science field is an asset
- Experience working with hand tools and/or testing equipment is an asset
- An understanding of construction and building envelope systems is an asset




- Understanding of job site requirements including PPE, Safety, Construction Schedules is an asset
- Technical report writing skills is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers
- Working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Word, Excel, Smartsheet, Bluebeam and PrefSuite is preferred (or other ERP program)
- Willingness and ability to travel to job sites in Lower Mainland
- Valid BC driver’s license

Nice to Have:
- Experience with EnerGuide evaluations, residential energy assessments, HOT2000, or related energy efficiency programs is an asset
- Knowledge of building energy performance, mechanical systems, and energy-efficient construction practices is an asset
- EnerGuide certification or eligibility to pursue certification is considered an asset but not required. Training opportunities may be available for the right candidate.
