About the Role SFTY LTD. is a Calgary-based occupational health and safety consulting company looking for an experienced Business Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative, financial, and operational functions of our growing small business.

This is a hands-on role. We need someone who can manage business processes while also doing the work required to keep things moving.

On any given day, that could mean reviewing financial information, issuing invoices, following up on receivables, setting up a new client, reviewing employee time, coordinating schedules, preparing a proposal, improving a process, or resolving an administrative issue.

We are looking for someone who sees what needs to be done, takes ownership, and follows it through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day business and administrative operations.
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and financial administration using QuickBooks.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Review employee and contractor time.
- Coordinate new-client setup, contracts, purchase orders, rates, and billing requirements.
- Assist with proposals, quotations, bids, and service agreements.
- Coordinate employee scheduling, onboarding, records, and administrative requirements.
- Maintain organized financial, client, employee, and business records.
- Support and improve company software, systems, templates, and workflows.
- Coordinate vendors, purchasing, insurance, licensing, and other recurring business requirements.
- Provide the CEO/Owner with accurate financial and operational information.
- Identify problems and inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business administration, operations,

office management, accounting administration, or a similar role.
- Small-business or privately owned business experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and basic accounting principles.
- Experience using QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting and financial administration is strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
- Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound business judgment.
- Comfortable learning and using new business software and systems.

A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field is an asset, but practical experience and demonstrated ability are equally important.

The Right Fit This is not a traditional corporate management position where the work is delegated to administrative staff.

SFTY is a small company, and the Business Manager must be comfortable managing the process and doing the work.

The right person takes initiative, follows up without being reminded, keeps things organized, solves problems, and understands that cash flow, invoicing, clients, deadlines, and follow-through matter.

Ultimately, your job is to make SFTY more organized, more efficient, and easier to operate.

Compensation SFTY LTD. expects to offer a base salary in the range of:

$75,000–$90,000 per year, based on experience and demonstrated capabilities.

If you enjoy variety, responsibility, problem-solving, and having a direct impact on a growing small business, we would like to hear from you!

Advantages

- Casual dress
- Company events
- Extended health care
- Paid time off
