Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Process Engineer (Platform Specs Analyst) to bridge the gap between business objectives, product requirements, architecture, and software engineering. In this role, you will transform business needs and technical concepts into clear, structured, implementation-ready specifications that can be used by engineering teams and AI-assisted development agents.

You will play a key role in an agentic software delivery model, creating the context, requirements, contracts, acceptance criteria, workflows, and validation logic needed to turn complex or ambiguous requirements into executable work.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate business goals, product requirements, architecture decisions, and platform capabilities into clear technical specifications.
- Define API contracts, data contracts, event contracts, service/agent contracts, business rules, workflows, and non-functional requirements.
- Develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, test scenarios, and validation requirements.
- Create structured context packages for AI-assisted software development, including workflows, edge cases, sample payloads, business rules, user journeys, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain traceability from business objectives and requirements through design, development, testing, release, and production outcomes.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, QA, Security, Operations, and SMEs to clarify requirements and resolve dependencies.
- Break down complex initiatives into well-defined, actionable backlog items that engineering teams and AI coding agents can execute effectively.
- Define quality and validation patterns so testing and acceptance criteria are embedded directly into the requirements process.
- Create and maintain reusable specification templates, documentation standards, glossaries, process models, and best-practice documentation.




- Review delivered functionality to ensure it meets business requirements and identify gaps between intended and actual system behavior.
- Continuously improve the quality, consistency, and reusability of specifications used across engineering teams.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Requirements Engineering, Product Analysis, or a similar technical role.
- Strong experience translating business requirements into detailed, implementation-ready specifications.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working with APIs, data models/schemas, integrations, workflows, and service contracts.
- Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, scenarios, test cases, and functional requirements.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, product backlogs, and software development lifecycle.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-assisted or AI-driven software development.
- Familiarity with AI coding agents and structured context used to guide AI-generated implementations.
- Understanding of QA automation and modern software testing practices.
- Experience with REST APIs, event-driven architectures, data contracts, and integration platforms.
- Experience working in cloud-based or distributed technology environments.
- Familiarity with architecture documentation and technical design artifacts.

Pay: $70.00-$100.00 per hour
