Pillar5 is seeking an experienced buyer to join the team.

The Buyer will be a key contributor responsible for all aspects of purchasing and vendor negotiations across Pillar5 facilities. This role plays an integral part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials while supporting operational efficiency and business objectives. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Warehousing, Manufacturing, Finance, Technical Services, and Quality Operations, as well as external suppliers, to maintain uninterrupted supply and support the successful execution of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

· Procure materials required to support production schedules, ensuring timely delivery and completion of required documentation.

· Manage backorders and supply issues, communicating risks and resolutions to cross-functional teams.

· Build and maintain supplier relationships, including performance reviews, vendor scorecards, and cost management initiatives.

· Partner with suppliers and Quality Assurance to resolve quality and supply concerns and mitigate risks.

· Negotiate pricing, service, and supply agreements while supporting ongoing supplier performance and development.

· Source and qualify new suppliers for Current Product Introductions (NPIs), including cost analysis and contract negotiations.

· Maintain supplier, material,



and purchasing data within the ERP/MRP system and manage supplier change requests.

· Support inventory optimization initiatives, including reducing excess and obsolete inventory.

· Assist with budgeting activities and support departmental and site objectives.

· Review supplier agreements and apply ethical sourcing practices to achieve cost savings and supply chain effectiveness.

· Perform other purchasing, sourcing, and inventory management duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· University degree or college diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field

· At least 5 years’ progressive Purchasing experience

· Strong analytical capabilities

· Excellent teamwork, organizational and communication skills

· Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes

· Proficient in Microsoft applications

· Certification in purchasing (CPP) or production/inventory management (i.e., CPIM) is an asset.

· SAP experience is considered an asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
