K.R.A Initiative Ltd. is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and student-focused Calculus Instructor to join our growing education team in the Greater Toronto Area.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematics background and the ability to explain complex calculus concepts in a clear, structured, and approachable way. This role is suited to an instructor who enjoys helping students build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, prepare for examinations, and develop a deeper understanding of advanced mathematics.
The Calculus Instructor will teach students at different academic levels and should be able to adapt lessons based on each learner’s needs, goals, and current level of understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach calculus through structured, engaging, and interactive lessons.
- Explain complex mathematical concepts in clear, step-by-step language.
- Teach topics such as limits, continuity, derivatives, differentiation rules, applications of derivatives, related rates, optimization, curve sketching, definite and indefinite integrals, integration techniques, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, applications of integration, sequences, series, and introductory differential equations where appropriate.
- Support students with precalculus, algebra, functions, and trigonometry where foundational review is required.
- Develop lesson plans, practice exercises, assignments, quizzes, and assessments.
- Prepare students for high school, college, university, and other academic mathematics assessments.
- Help students develop logical reasoning and independent problem-solving skills rather than relying only on memorization.
- Identify areas where students are struggling and provide targeted academic support.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents or guardians, and the K.R.A Initiative team when required.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of K.R.A Initiative’s mathematics curriculum and learning materials.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of calculus and advanced mathematics.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Education, or another related quantitative field is preferred.
- Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or instructional experience in mathematics is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of algebra, functions, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus.
- Ability to solve mathematical problems accurately and explain solutions clearly.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong patience and the ability to work with students at different learning levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
Experience teaching High School Calculus, Advanced Functions, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, or Statistics is an asset. Experience using online teaching platforms, digital whiteboards, graphing tools, or educational technology is also considered an asset.
