About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and energetic Cashier & Customer Service Helper to join our cake company team during a two-day Afro-Caribbean festival at Thompson Memorial Park in Scarborough.

You will be helping us operate our cake and dessert stand, serving customers, processing payments, keeping the booth organized, and providing a welcoming customer experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a busy event setting.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Take customer orders and answer questions about our cakes and desserts
- Operate a cash register and process cash, debit, and credit payments
- Package and hand out customer orders accurately
- Assist with setting up and maintaining the vendor booth
- Keep the work and customer areas clean, organized, and presentable
- Restock products, packaging, and supplies as needed
- Help with basic food-service tasks when required




- Provide excellent customer service throughout the event
- Work efficiently during busy periods and long customer lineups
- Assist with opening and closing the booth

Qualifications
- Previous cashier, customer service, retail, food-service, or event experience is an asset
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable speaking with customers
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable handling money and processing payments
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods
- Must be able to work both days of the festival
- Food-handling experience or certification is an asset

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is positive, dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused. Since this is an Afro-Caribbean festival, someone who is familiar with or comfortable working within an Afro-Caribbean community and environment would be a great fit.

Dates: August 22nd and 23rd, 2026

Hours: 11AM-9PM

Pay: $90 day

Pay: Up to $80.00 per day
