Cashier

Job Summary The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, maintaining a clean checkout area, and helping ensure a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service

- Welcome every customer with a friendly attitude.
- Answer customer questions about pricing, promotions, and store policies.
- Assist customers in locating products when needed.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and politely.

Cash Register Operations
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
- Open and close the cash register according to company procedures.
- Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Issue receipts and ensure accurate pricing.

Store Support
- Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Assist with restocking shelves and bins during quiet periods.
- Help maintain store cleanliness and presentation.
- Follow daily price changes and ensure customers are charged correctly.

Loss Prevention
- Verify high-value items before completing sales.
- Watch for suspicious activities and immediately report concerns to management.
- Follow all cash handling and theft prevention procedures.




- Never allow unauthorized discounts or transactions.

Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company SOPs and health & safety policies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations and customer information.
- Complete other duties assigned by management.

Performance KPI
- Maintain 98%+ transaction accuracy.
- Achieve excellent customer service with positive customer feedback.
- Keep cash shortages/overages within company standards.
- Arrive on time and maintain excellent attendance.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area throughout every shift.
- Follow all store policies and security procedures.

Qualifications
- Previous cashier or retail experience is an asset but not required.
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Compensation
- Starting Wage: CAD $18.00–$20.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Performance reviews with opportunities for wage increases based on performance and reliability.

Pay: $0.14-$0.22 per hour
