Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places, AECOM’s Architectural business, is seeking an Architectural technologist to join our team. This position will be based out of our Burnaby office with remote/hybrid work options permitted. This is a newly created position.

Responsibilities

- Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.
- Prepare specifications, reports, and related data tables.
- Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.
- Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.
- Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate to high complexity.
- Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
- Be introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline‑associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.
- Have intermediate to advanced understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.
- Be introduced to the process of performing material take‑offs for the discipline.

Minimum Requirements

- Post Secondary education + Six (6) years of experience as or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

- Preference for those with over ten years of experience as a Registered Architect with the OAA,



experience with Science & Technology laboratories and facilities is a definite asset.
- LEED certification and familiarity with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA are highly regarded.
- Proficiency in REVIT, BIM, MS Office, Adobe Suite, and strong communication abilities are essential.

Additional Information

- Company paid relocation is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
- Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000.
