VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - CCC

Wage range: $ 32.41 - $40.51 hourly (commensurate with experience)

Start Date: as soon as possible The primary goal of the Volunteer Coordinator is to ensure our patients are receiving high-quality, person-centered care that is aligned with our values of Dignity, Excellence, Service and Integrity. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the interprofessional team to develop, implement, and enhance volunteer programs that support patient care and maximize patients’ restorative potential.

Additional Duties Include:

- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop short- and long-term goals for volunteer services.
- Identify opportunities for patient programs that support and supplement existing therapeutic and rehabilitative programming and assist patients in reaching their maximum potential.
- Design and execute proactive recruitment campaigns and strategies to attract qualified volunteers who align with organizational needs and values.
- Conduct volunteer intake interviews, screening candidates, and completing reference checks to assess suitability and alignment with organizational values, patient care needs, and volunteer role requirements.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers to match their interests, experience, skills, and abilities with appropriate volunteer opportunities within the organization.
- Develop, coordinate, and lead comprehensive onboarding programs for new volunteers, including facility orientation, role expectations, organizational policies, and applicable hospital codes and safety protocols.
- Facilitate hands-on training, job shadowing,



and other learning opportunities to prepare volunteers to work comfortably, confidently, and safely alongside clinical and interdisciplinary teams in restorative care settings.
- Establish, communicate, and monitoring clear non-clinical role boundaries for volunteers to support patient safety and appropriate scope of volunteer involvement, including ensuring volunteers do not participate in patient transfers, feeding, or physical assistance without appropriate clinical oversight and training.
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to the volunteer team and addressing volunteer concerns or performance issues as appropriate.
- Plan and coordinating volunteer engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote volunteerism within the organization and broader community, including establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners, educational institutions, and other organizations.
- Represent the organization at community events, recruitment initiatives, information sessions, and other events as required.
- Evaluate volunteer services and programs on an ongoing basis and identifying opportunities for improvement, expansion, and alignment with organizational and patient needs.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology, Recreation and Leisure Studies, or a related post-secondary discipline.
- Two to three years of direct supervisory or management experience.
- Two years of experience in therapeutic recreation or leisure management programming in a health care setting, preferably in a hospital environment.

Pay: $32.41-$40.51 per hour
