Human Computer Lab seeks a Mechatronics Controls Engineer to enhance our creative robotics. Your role will drive control systems that make robots feel alive and user-responsive.
In this dynamic position, you will be pivotal in developing control systems for HCL’s first robot, LeLamp. You’ll tackle both hardware and software integration while refining algorithms for actuators and sensors. Collaborating closely with the team, you'll ensure motions are expressive and intentional, contributing to the lab's vision of human-centric technology.
Key Responsibilities: • Tune motion control systems and dynamic responses • Integrate devices into reliable assemblies • Write control algorithms in C++ or Python • Maintain simulation environments and URDF models • Troubleshoot issues related to latency and noise
Requirements: • Advanced degree in robotics, electrical engineering or similar • Practical experience tuning control systems • Proficient in ROS or ROS2 • Familiarity with actuator systems and motor drivers • CAD skills for design and assembly
