Duties

- Safely operate a Class 1 commercial truck within local routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, including brakes, tires, lights, and other critical systems; perform basic automotive repairs if needed
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery logs, manifests, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and pickups




- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the truck and work area at all times
- Assist with forklift operation during loading/unloading processes to ensure efficient handling of freight

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation within local areas
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, perform inspections, and work in various weather conditions
- Clean Driver's abstract
