Position Summary The Cleaner and Dishwasher in the Bakery Department is responsible for maintaining a clean, protected, and sanitary environment within the in-store bakery. This role ensures all bakery tools, equipment, and workspaces are properly cleaned and sanitized to support food safety and efficient operations. The Cleaner and Dishwasher plays a key part in helping the bakery team deliver high-quality baked goods in a welcoming retail environment, while following all store policies and health regulations.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and values cleanliness, efficiency, and food safety.

Job Structure

This is a part-time, hourly position. Work schedule includes shifts on weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties:

- Clean and sanitize bakery surfaces, prep areas, floors, and equipment according to schedule.




- Assist in cleaning display cases, racks, and front-facing areas of the bakery.
- Dispose of waste and recycling properly, following store protocols.
- Conduct deep-cleaning tasks regularly, including ovens, mixers, and walk-ins.

Dishwashing Duties:

- Wash and sanitize all bakery tools, trays, utensils, mixing bowls, and equipment throughout the shift.
- Properly dry, store, and organize cleaned equipment in designated bakery storage areas.

Retail Support:

- Maintain cleanliness in customer-visible areas, ensuring a tidy and welcoming bakery environment.
- Monitor and restock sanitation and cleaning supplies used in the bakery.
- Follow store safety, hygiene, and food handling guidelines at all times.
- Support the bakery team with general prep or stocking tasks as needed.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a bakery, kitchen or cleaning role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning checklists and schedules.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle cleaning tasks.
- Availability for early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed.
