Cleaning Supervisor / Working Supervisor – Commercial Cleaning

United Home Renovations – Cleaning Services Division is seeking a reliable and experienced Cleaning Supervisor / Working Supervisor for a recurring multi-site commercial cleaning operation.
This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate will both perform cleaning duties and supervise a small cleaning team, ensuring assigned sites are completed on schedule and meet required quality standards.
The client, contract, and exact facility locations will remain confidential during the initial recruitment stage. Full details will be provided to selected candidates before onboarding.
Schedule
Monday to Friday
- Approximately 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Schedule may vary slightly depending on assigned sites, inspections, operational requirements and emergency cleaning needs.
Transportation Requirement
- Valid driver's licence is required
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle
- Must be comfortable travelling between multiple assigned sites during the workday
- May be required to transport cleaning team members between assigned work locations when necessary
- Gas/fuel costs for required work-related travel between sites will be covered by the company
- Employees are responsible for getting themselves to the first assigned site and home after the final site of the day
Responsibilities
- Perform regular commercial cleaning while supervising assigned cleaners
- Coordinate daily cleaning schedules and site assignments
- Ensure assigned work is completed within scheduled service times
- Clean entrances, lobbies, hallways, corridors, stairwells, landings and common areas
- Sweep, vacuum, damp mop and perform routine floor care
- Spot-clean carpets as required
- Clean elevators, elevator tracks, doors, glass, handrails and high-touch surfaces
- Clean common washrooms, offices, community rooms, kitchens and laundry areas where assigned
- Clean garbage and chute rooms and remove routine waste
- Dust accessible walls, ledges, baseboards, furniture, fixtures, vents and blinds
- Restock approved janitorial and washroom supplies
- Complete scheduled periodic cleaning
- Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies when required
- Monitor cleaning quality across assigned sites
- Provide hands-on assistance when cleaners require additional support
- Coordinate movement of the cleaning team between sites when necessary
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report items requiring replenishment
- Complete and verify checklists, photographs, time records and service-verification reports
- Maintain regular communication with management regarding daily operations
- Promptly report maintenance, access, security, resident and safety concerns
- Ensure cleaners follow company safety procedures and site-specific instructions
- Assist with minor common-area biohazard or sharps cleanup after completing required training
- Help coordinate coverage when a cleaner is absent
- Assist with urgent or emergency cleaning requests when required
- Participate in orientations, inspections and quality-control reviews
Qualifications
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is required; supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle are required
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage a small cleaning team
- Willing and able to perform hands-on cleaning duties throughout the shift
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to consistent cleaning quality
- Good communication, organization and time-management skills
- Able to safely perform physical cleaning duties, including lifting supplies and using stairs
- Comfortable travelling between multiple work locations
- Comfortable using a mobile phone for communication, photographs, checklists and time verification
- Willing to complete WHMIS, site orientation and other required safety training
- Must successfully complete any required background or security screening
- Biohazard or sharps-handling training is an asset but not required
