About the Role We are seeking an experienced

Labour Relations / HR Advisor

to join our high-performing Human Resources team and provide hands‑on labour relations and HR support to our operations in British Columbia.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a

and enjoys working closely with leaders, employees, and union representatives. Working closely with the

HR Director, Western Canada , you will provide practical, timely, and solutions‑focused advice on a broad range of labour relations and employee relations matters.

The ideal candidate will have

5–7 years of progressive labour relations and HR experience , preferably in a unionized environment and within British Columbia. Experience in transportation, waste management, logistics, manufacturing, construction, or another highly operational environment would be an asset.

This position requires the ability and willingness to

travel up to 25%

throughout British Columbia, including occasional overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities Labour Relations & Employee Relations

Provide day-to-day labour relations and HR advice to operational leaders and managers.

Interpret and administer collective agreements, policies, and employment legislation.

Manage and support

grievances, investigations, discipline, attendance, performance management, and other employee relations matters .

Coach managers through difficult employee conversations and workplace issues.

Support positive and productive relationships with union representatives.

Assist with collective bargaining preparation, including research, costing, wage analysis, and proposal development.





Participate in collective bargaining and negotiations as required.

Identify emerging labour relations issues and provide proactive recommendations.

Ensure consistent application of collective agreement provisions and HR policies.

Support organizational changes, employee relations initiatives, and other HR projects.

HR & Compliance

Ensure HR practices comply with applicable

British Columbia employment standards, labour relations, human rights, occupational health and safety, and privacy legislation .

Maintain accurate and confidential employee and labour relations records.

Partner with Operations, Payroll, Health & Safety, and other departments on employee-related matters.

Prepare reports, analysis, and recommendations for HR leadership and operational management.

Support continuous improvement of HR and labour relations practices.

Qualifications & Experience

5–7 years of progressive labour relations and/or HR experience , in a unionized environment.

Diploma or degree in

Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline .

Strong experience interpreting and administering collective agreements.

Experience with grievances, investigations, discipline, attendance management, and employee relations.

Strong understanding of labour relations principles and applicable employment legislation.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.





Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive matters.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a

high‑performing HR team .

Valid driver’s licence and ability and willingness to

travel up to 25%

throughout British Columbia.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.

A combination of education, training, and relevant labour relations/HR experience may be considered in lieu of the stated educational requirements.

Assets

Labour relations experience in

British Columbia .

Experience working with multiple bargaining units or collective agreements.

Experience in transportation, waste management, logistics, manufacturing, construction, or another highly operational environment.

Collective bargaining experience.
