CNC Press Brake--Laser Cutting --Plasma Cutting
Full-Time | Steel Fabrication
We are looking for an experienced and motivated CNC Machine Operator to join our steel fabrication team.
The successful candidate will be a multi-skilled operator with experience in CNC press brake operations, CNC laser cutting, and/or CNC plasma cutting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable setting up machinery, reading fabrication drawings, selecting tooling and parameters, inspecting finished parts, and making adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy.
Experience with Ermaksan CNC press brake equipment is a strong asset.
THE ROLE
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and setting up a variety of CNC equipment used in our steel fabrication operation. Your responsibilities may include:
- Setting up and operating an Ermaksan CNC press brake.
- Operating and setting up CNC laser cutting equipment.
- Operating and setting up CNC plasma cutting equipment.
- Loading and unloading steel plate and other materials safely.
- Reading and interpreting fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Selecting appropriate tooling and machine settings.
- Setting bend angles, back gauge positions, cutting parameters, and machine offsets.
- Understanding material thickness, bend allowances, inside radius, springback, and tolerances.
- Performing first-piece inspections and making machine adjustments as required.
- Measuring finished parts to ensure they meet drawing specifications.
- Monitoring cut quality, dimensions, and overall part accuracy.
- Identifying and troubleshooting basic machine, tooling, and production issues.
- Performing routine machine checks and keeping equipment and work areas clean.
- Following all company safety procedures and quality-control requirements.
- Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience operating CNC press brakes, laser cutters, and/or plasma cutters.
- Experience setting up CNC equipment is highly preferred.
- Ermaksan press brake experience is an asset.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of CNC machine operation, tooling, and machine setup.
- Ability to accurately use measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to make machine adjustments and corrections to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
- Ability to safely handle steel plate and other materials.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate is someone who can do more than simply operate a machine. We are looking for a skilled, hands-on CNC operator who understands machine setup, tooling, material selection, measurements, and quality control.
Experience with multiple CNC processes—including press brake, laser, and plasma cutting—will be considered a significant asset.
A candidate who is experienced in one area but willing and capable of learning the others will also be considered.
